Highlights

I owned and managed residential rental properties for 20 years (2001- 2021)

  • As landlord, I recruited and interviewed prospective tenants. I drafted, presented and enforced the lease agreements.
  • As property owner, I increased the yearly revenue by keeping costs low and staying competitive.
  • I designed, coordinated and participated in the labor work for the renovation of 3 houses.
  • I successfully conducted the simultaneous repairs of 3 residential properties flooded by Hurricane Harvey.
    • Completed 4 additional residential flood repair projects prior to 2017.

I had the honor of serving 2 terms as Councilwoman for the City of South Houston, TX (2011 – 2015)

  • As a policymaker, accomplishments include: balanced budget, revenue increasing ordinances, grant awards for the construction of a new city police building, hiring of additional police officers, new emergency response vehicles and multiple civil infrastructure projects.
  • Community Achievements include: weekly crafts with senior citizens, summer outdoor movie events, back to school fairs, school food drives, Christmas toy giveaways, city Christmas parade and Easter Egg Hunts.

I have been a Texas Notary Public for over 20 years (2000 – present)

  • I organized the formation of multiple sole-proprietorships and Texas corporations including, Alamo Concrete Construction, Abaco Concrete Construction, Inc., Landgrader of Houston, Inc., Heron Homes, Almena Foundation, Cima Bookkeeping, JR Roofing, Cima Investments, Crysma Construction, Inc., and JHeron Construciton, LLC.

I am the founder of Crysma Construction, Inc. (2020 – present)

  • Founded during the Covid pandemic as a result of a financial impact.  As a small business owner, I formulate the objectives and goals.  I manage the administrative processes to ensure operational efficiency and maximum return of investment.  I develop, launch and evaluate marketing campaigns.  I negotiate, approve and manage project contracts.
